Owner/Center Director
Miss Lori

Hi everyone! I am your Owner/Center Director. I have had the joy of working with children and families for more than 25 years. I began my career in high school as part of a Regional Occupational Program offered to high school students. My love for teaching grew from that point and I knew this was where my passion was. I first worked for a corporate center and held every position from teacher aid, cook and bus driver to Assistant Director, Infant/Toddler Director and Center Director. In 2002, I opened a family child care that I ran from my home for 12 years. This time at home allowed me to do what I love while being home with my two amazing daughters who are now 24 and 15. Now that my girls are mostly grown, I've been given the amazing opportunity to launch my own center so I can share my joy and passion for teaching with all of you! I am truly blessed to have this opportunity to teach, learn and grow with your children.
Not only am I the Owner/Director, but I am the mother to two amazing daughters and the wife to an amazing man. We enjoy spending time outdoors, boating and riding motorcycles. (Yes! I ride too....not well, but I ride!) We also have a zoo at home with 3 cats, 2 dogs, 2 bearded dragons and 2 pot belly pigs! I guess you can say we love animals. This is a family business and you will often find my husband helping us here at school cooking meals, fixing things or acting as a human jungle gym for our littles. I've even caught him playing play dough and reading stories! Our girls also share our love for teaching; our oldest is an Infant/Toddler teacher and our youngest helps in the classroom after school. The joy of teaching is contagious!

Stay Wild!!

Assistant Director
Miss Vanettra "V"

Hi! I am so excited to be a part of Where the Wild Things Play Preschool. More importantly, I am THRILLED to be your Assistant Director! I'm looking forward to new adventures and can't wait to see what the future has in store for us.
I was born and raised in San Francisco, CA and I am the third oldest of TEN children. After graduating high school, I knew I wanted to become a teacher because of the love I have for children. My mother started her very own family daycare in 2002 which allowed me lots of early hands on experience.
My first preschool experience was in 2010. For two years I taught groups of amazing children with Autism and other special needs. In 2012, I gained more permanent experience by giving birth to my first child. I also relocated to New Orleans, LA for a change of scenery. In Louisiana, I had the privilege to lead a group of 12 preschoolers. In the last months of 2013, I decided to move back to the Bay. I immediately went to work and taught a classroom of 8-12 Discovery Preschoolers. (2's) In this position, I had the ability to provide consistency and structure. I met Ms. Lori, our Director, who has been a big mentor to me. We worked together at another larger center in which I had a classroom of 24 preschoolers.
In 2016, I gave birth to yet another beautiful girl and married a wonderful man. My little family is so much fun; they keep me on my toes and motivated all the time.
I am so excited to be your Assistant Director and for you to be a part of this awesomely WILD program!

Lead Infant/Toddler Teacher

Miss Kelsey
I have been teaching now for 7 years. Before teaching preschool, I taught at an after school program for the YMCA. As a teenager, I worked summers in a home daycare where I gained a lot of experience. I began my education in the field at Livermore High School where I took elective courses in Child Development and Psychology. After high school, I enrolled at Las Positas College and then transferred to DVC where I am completed my AS in Child Development.
My ultimate goal is to teach elementary school. I believe that working with young children now will help me understand the way children learn, think and behave. I love working with young children; they remind me how much fun it is to be a kid. I love to see their minds at work while they are playing and trying to master skills. I believe that my students teach me as much as I teach them.
